High School, College, and Graduate Level Internships now open!
Pick Your Passion!
Explore hands-on learning in conservation, natural resources, regenerative agriculture, food and forest systems, soil science, agroforestry, watershed health, policy, civics, permaculture, and climate solutions.
We work with students across all degree programs and subject areas to ensure internships qualify for high school or college/graduate-level credit.
- Structured as an internship, externship, independent study, research project, or capstone
- We coordinate directly with you and your school to meet academic requirements
- High school students: Flexible Pathways credit available
We have experience working with students from high schools, technical schools, colleges and universities, graduate and PhD programs, and law schools.
Farm Force (All interns, 2x/month):
All interns participate in Farm Force, our community-based workforce initiative supporting local farms and food systems. Through organized work brigades, interns spend two days per month helping farmers get critical work done: strengthening our local food system and building long-term resilience.
In addition to hands-on work, interns can engage in policy, research, and technical assistance:
- Matched with active projects based on interests and goals
- Support farm-based research, conservation planning, and farmer technical assistance
- Contribute to policy work at the local, state, and federal level
Projects are tailored to each intern and reflect the full scope of the district’s work.

College & Graduate Internships/Externships
Semester Program:
Available year-round, we co-create internships or research projects aligned with your field of study. Work directly with the Conservation District on active, locally led initiatives in conservation, agriculture, and food systems—including fieldwork, research, and policy at the local, state, and federal level.
All experiences are structured for academic credit and designed to connect hands-on work with real-world conservation and policy outcomes.
Project-Based / Independent Research:
We support independent studies, thesis work, and applied research projects. Our team can help design, supervise, and implement projects in conservation, agriculture, natural resources, and climate resilience.
We will work with your school to ensure your internship qualifies for credit, whether as an internship, externship, independent study, or research project.
This is an opportunity to contribute to real work at the intersection of land, food, and policy.
High School Internships with ReGeneration Corps
Semester (Flexible Pathways):
Through Vermont’s Flexible Pathways program, we co-design a semester-long internship tailored to your interests. Students earn credit across multiple subject areas through a combination of virtual and hands-on learning (typically 3–10 hours per week), based on goals and demonstrated learning.
Can be used for credit and community service hours.
Summer:
One day per week July - August, plus optional Thursday garden days at the Sharon Free Food for All Garden.
- Plant, maintain, and harvest in gardens, farms, and tree nurseries
- Build and repair projects like fencing and restoration sites
- Restore streams and plant riparian buffers
- Identify and manage invasive species using non-toxic methods
- Support local food production and community food projects
- Explore food systems, policy, and conservation careers
Project-Based:
Have an idea? We’ll support you from concept to completion.
Students can design and implement projects for community service hours or capstone credit. Examples include installing riparian buffers, food forests, pollinator habitat, or rain gardens at schools or in the community.
